adversity

It’s an interesting thought, the idea of animals facing adversity. But in the wild, it goes without saying that life is rough.

In this very brief but insightful video clip, we learn of how the prolific crustacean, the lobster, undergoes transformations throughout its life. It grows and grows until its shell becomes unbearably uncomfortable, and then? It gets rid of it and grows a new shell.

How many entrepreneurs in their businesses reach that uncomfortable point and think “something is wrong”? The lobster sees these periods of discomfort as an opportunity to grow–so too must an entrepreneur. When your company hits adversity where its grown past its current infrastructure, the key is to figure out a way to “grow” a new one.
